About the Business
For just under £2.50 a week, get to play and learn the etiquette of the game of golf in a fun, safe and friendly environment. Bexleyheath Golf Club celebrated its Centenary in 2009 and is very proud of golf being played on the course for over 103 years. The earliest recollection of the Club is in 1907 when a group of men came together to play golf on a piece of ground rented from the owner of "The Mount". Sheep grazed on the land to keep the grass down and the members themselves gave their time in keeping the greens in a reasonable playing condition.
They also erected a small hut for their personal use. Under a small heading "Golf" (dated 15th October, 1909) the Bexleyheath Observer reported 'We understand that a nine hole Golf Course has been made on land adjoining 'The Mount'. The Links comprise about 27 acres of undulating land suitable for a delightful sporting course and should prove a distinct acquisition to the district.
