About the Business
Consistently voted one of England's Top 100 courses, Crowborough Beacon is a very special place that entices visitors to return time after time.
The 18 hole course stands 800 ft above sea level which affords spectacular views over the High Weald to the South Downs. As the legendary golf writer Bernard Darwin said: The first thing that will strike the golfer who comes fresh to Crowborough is the wonderful view. I do not suppose there is a wider or more beautiful one in all England.
He continued, "The holes are extraordinarily characteristic and easy to remember, all of them possess some dramatic and memorable feature." The course, at 6,319 yards, has many great holes and is considered challenging. For those who require an easier option there is the shorter "Conan Doyle" course - named after Sir Arthur the creator of Sherlock Holmes and ex-Captain of the Club. Temporary greens are never in operation and the course is only closed by golfers reluctant to brave the elements.
